Village
Marine Tec. has provided more than 100 12,000
GPD RO units to the U.S. Navy for the DDG-51
Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer program. VMT has
also provided these units for various retrofits on the CG-47
Ticonderoga Class Cruisers, LHA-1 Tarawa Class
Amphibious Assault Ships, and CVN-65 USS Enterprise
Aircraft Carrier. These units produce enough desalinated
seawater to meet all of the crew, auxiliary service, and potable
water needs.
These units are designed, qualified, and constructed to meet all US Navy surface
combatant requirements including MIL-S-901D HI Shock Grade A, MIL-STD-167
Type
1 Vibration, and MIL-STD-461 Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
The vessels
and piping are constructed of the best materials available including Hastelloy
C276, Inconel 625, Titanium, and 70/30 CuNi.
VMT uses weld procedures and welders fully qualified in accordance
with NAVSEA
S9074-AR-GIB-010/278. VMT maintains a quality control system in accordance
with MIL-I-45208 and uses NDT procedures in
accordance with NAVSEA
T9074-AS-GIB-010/271.
VMT's engineering department has the capability to perform in-house
acoustic
testing including Airborne Noise MIL-STD-740-1/ MIL-STD-1474, Structureborne
Noise MIL-STD-740-2, and Fluidborne Noise in accordance
with the DTRC
Liquidborne
Noise Test procedure for Navy Pumps.
